What is coming at you over the next two years
The admission scheme for staffing agencies (Wtta)
On 1 January 2027 the Dutch admission scheme for labour providers, the Wtta, comes into force. From 1 January 2028 it is enforced. From then on you may only hire through admitted staffing agencies. You have to check that yourself in a public register, and otherwise you risk a fine. So the administration around hiring has to get tighter anyway. You may as well have it right at once.

40.9 per cent
In transport and storage, 40.9 per cent of companies name the labour shortage as the main obstacle to running the business. Across the Netherlands that is 32.8 per cent. Logistics administrator, transport planner, customs declarant and freight forwarder are on the UWV list of occupations in demand for 2026-2027. So that shortage sits in the office too.
This is a quarterly figure that moves: in the second quarter of 2026 it stood at 30.7 per cent. The stable part is the distance to the national average.
